Geremia Bonomelli

Geremia Bonomelli (1831–1914) was the bishop of the diocese of Cremona in the late years of the 19th century and first years of the 20th century, Bonomelli is still remembered for his work in support of Italian emigrants.〔(From Treccani website )〕
==Life==

Born in Corte Franca〔() From Catholic Hierarchy website〕 at the time part of Kingdom of Lombardy–Venetia he was ordinaied priest for his native diocese of Brescia in 1855.
In 1871 pope Pius IX named him bishop of Cremona, from 1896 he was involved in the pastoral care of Italians that were living aboard so many Catholics missions were founded in the place of Italian emigration.Bonomelli was also a strong supporter of the involvement of Catholics (priest and laity) in the care of the poor people and said, "We catholics we have to left the temples and chirches and we to spent time with the people, we have to educate the people to his duties but we have also to remember the rights".〔() From an Italian website〕
Bonomelli was also involved in the firsts attempts to solve the Roman Question.
Bonomelli dies in 1914.
